Prue Mac Dougall, 9-28Oct, Auckland

Prue Mac Dougall's exhibition In Fine Feather
is on at Black Asterisk Gallery in Ponsonby, Auckland, from 9-28 October.

These new works show Prue’s fluency in the technical language of printmaking,
while expanding its boundaries into 3-dimensional forms.
Using the process of solar plate etching, she creates dramatic shadows and silhouettes.
The new collection includes delicate headpieces,
printed feathers and larger colourful screen prints combined with solar plate etching.
The wire-work tiaras incorporate her cut prints, pearls, crystal beads and feathers.
With whimsical imagery, her characteristic playfulness has center stage
as she creates a fanciful world of stories, a quiet telling of narratives
including kangaroo-headed circus performers, birds, trapeze act and other finely balanced characters.
