"Remember the anti-nuclear debates that led to the passing of nuclear-free legislation in 1987?
The intention was serious, but the protests were colourful, lively and entertaining –
street theatre, music, and the arts all worked towards raising New Zealanders’ awareness
of the issue so close to home in the Pacific.

Renowned artist and documentary film-maker Claudia Pond-Eyley
lets the eyewitnesses tell the story of the rise and fall of Aotearoa’s anti-nuclear movement,
still so much a part of who we are today.

No Nukes is Good Nukes! is a film about the grassroots nuclear free movement in New Zealand.
Historical references are made to the monumental legislation,
opposition to French nuclear testing at Moruroa,
the N.F.I.P movement for a Nuclear Free and Independent Pacific,
as well as addressing ANZUS and beyond."
