PRINTMAKING WORKSHOPS / CLASSES / TUITION AROUND NZ

Letterpress Workshops - GTO Printers, Auckland
9:30-4pm, one Saturday each month (see GTO's website for 2016 dates)
Cost is $140+gst ($161 including gst) per person, maximum of 4 people.
The workshops are run by Graham Judd, owner of GTO Printers.
Learn to handset and print type in a creative way.
Participants will draw on an eclectic collection of lead and wood type and ornaments,
to design and print a page while learning the skills to set type, ink up, and operate press.
Participants will then design and produce a set of personal cards with their own choice of subject.

Monotype Printmaking Workshop - Auckland Print Studios

10am-3:30pm, email APS for upcoming dates, $138 incl gst.

One-day intensive workshop explores the monotype printmaking process. 

The workshop will cover a variety of techniques, including dark- eld and light- eld manners,

collage / chine-colle and stenciling. Also exploring printing multiple layers of transparent inks.

Introductory Stone Lithography Workshop - Auckland Print Studios

An introduction to stone lithography, producing an edition of approx 10 monochromatic lithographs

Introduction to Printmaking - Te Kowhai Print Trust, Whangarei

 An affordable 8-week course, 9:30am-2:30pm every Tuesday (repeated each term)

Weekly koha / donation, and some materials costs may apply.
Learn screenprinting, woodcut / linocut, drypoint, letterpress and solarplate etching.

Acrylic Resist Etching Workshop - Wharepuke Print Studio, Kerikeri
Two days, $190 per person incl gst, maximum of 8 people
Taught by Mark Graver, author of Non-Toxic Printmaking (2011, London, A&C Black),
the studio offers Acrylic Resist Etching workshops for artists wishing to learn safer etching techniques.
Using the Edinburgh Etch for copper (ferric chloride and citric acid)
and copper sulphate/salt mordant for aluminium, zinc and steel.
No toxic fumes are released using these techniques and all inks are water-based Akua Intaglio.

Printmaking Courses - Inverlochy House, Wellington
Inverlochy run various 8-week printmaking courses each term,
including screenprinting, experimental printmaking, untutored studio time, and courses for beginners.
Prices vary between courses, but about $150-$350 for a whole term.
